戦略と組織、そして成果との関係を、ホリスティックな観点から解明することである。具体的には、全社レベルの IMC プロセスがダイナミックな事業環境においてどのように機能するのかを構成概念間の関係を示す見取り図によって提示している。3つの主な分析結果として、第 1 に、IMC 評価モデルを構築する必要性が叫ばれながらも、研究面で大きな進展が見られなかったこと、第 2 に、IMC の多様な考え方やその多次元尺度、先行要因、成果要因を整理し、それらの因果関係の仮説を策定したこと、第 3 に、そのうえで新たな理論的枠組みを提案して実証研究への道筋を示したことなどが挙げられる。提案された枠組みは、全社レベルの IMC を実行する場合、その実行から得られるメリットをはじめ、組織が達成した IMC
