English/British School）が挙げられる。国際関係研究におけるこれら「二つの英国学派」は、主流派ないし米国型の理論研究との対比から、世界の歴史や社会的文脈をより重視する古典的アプローチを採る立場であるとされるが、しかしそれゆえに社会科学としての方法論が不明瞭であるとして批判されてきた。この批判に応答しうる視座を提供する理論として、「二つの英国学派」の双方において18世紀のデイヴィッド・ヒューム（David
