ホワイトヘッドのコスモロジーの大きな特徴は累積性にある。即ちその究極的構成要素たる現実的存在は、その生成が終わったとしても宇宙から消え去るのではない。むしろその上に新たな現実的存在が積み重なっていく。 こういった累積性はコスモロジーの対象たる宇宙の要素についてのみ言われるわけではない。むしろコスモロジーの探究そのものについても言われる。その点で累積性は自己言及的である。そしてこのコスモロジーの探究そのもの累積性は、フォードの「構成的分析」の評価においても有効である。
