vs. 主語-述語型構文を好む英語、状況中心表現を好む日本語 vs. 行為者中心表現を好む英語、動詞中心構造 vs. 名詞中心構造、修飾語句の先行を厳守する日本語 vs. 前置修飾と後置修飾を併用する英語など。「大中小」が英語では\"small, medium, or large\"と表現されるように、日英語の語順については鏡像関係が見られる表現が多い。ラテン語の \"Veni, vidi, vici\"(来た、見た、勝った)のような三重文肢構造(Tricolon)は、英語教材にも散見される。そこで、「石の上にも 3 年」の数詞 3 と同様に、Tricolon にも「ひとくぎり」をつけることができるという数詞 3 の性質が見られることや、Active Learning の教材としての Tricolon
